Tim and Teri McCardel Family

It was over thirty years ago, while driving a school bus in New York I had a desperation encounter with God. I was in deep soul turmoil, not sure of my eternity.  Would i really be in heaven with God forever?  I had to get this resolved or I felt like I would die.

On that bus, spread out on the floor, crying out to God for His mercy and grace, God dramatically touched and transformed me.  My personal relationship with Christ was securely sealed.  God's peace flooded my mind and heart and I have never been the same since.  God's forgiveness and love mean more than anything I could ever possess.  How patient and loving God has been toward me.

God then moved in my life over 15 years ago and called me to come here to Florida and Friendship.  More than ever our community needs a church that is full of love and life-changing power of Jesus Christ.  Our hope must be rooted deeply in the work of the cross, Christ taking upon Himself our sin and enduring righteous wrath of a Holy God.

These verses have impacted me:

"God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus."  "May the God of hope fill you with all the joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Romans 15:5, 13

Friendship is to "offer hope" to all we come in contact with. The hope of the world is the church when it is following Jesus Christ.

Tim is a graduate of Baptist Bible College East located in Boston, MA. It was at college  that he asked Teri to be his wife. They have six children and 3 grandchildren.  Tim pastored a church in New York City for ten years before joining Friendship in 1997.
